ABLANG, EDWARD

Edward Ablang was born on March 09, 1986 in Edmonds Washington and loved playing with his kids, riding his motorcycle, BBQing, playing softball with his unit team and displaying his artistic talents which included writing poems, drawing, and playing the guitar.  

SGT Ablang joined the U.S. Army in 2007 and graduated from basic training in Fort Jackson, SC in September. SGT. Upon completion of basic training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), SGT Ablang and his family were stationed in Fort Campbell, KY. He then went on to be stationed in Bamber Germany, and then ultimately Fort Riley, KS in May 2013 where he was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 601st Aviation Support Battalion, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division. He was a 91B wheeled vehicle mechanic. Edward had deployed once to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. He had served 8.5 years prior to his passing. 

 

Edward Ablang was killed on 20 December 2015, in Junction City Kansas as the result of a motorcycle accident.  

Edward leaves behind his middle school sweetheart, and wife, Kelsey and their two boys Adrian and Jaxson. 

 Edward was an amazing husband, father and brother. He tried his best to make sure everyone else was taken care of before himself. He always made time for his 2 kids. He loved the Seattle Seahawks and BBQing for his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and I think he knew his time on earth was limited because he always tried to live life to the fullest and leave nothing unsaid. He is deeply missed every day by his loved ones and friends.
