Fallen Story
Zachary Alley was born on 22 September 1986 in Cherry Point, North Carolina. He would eventually move to Cincinnati, Ohio where he would become a 2004 graduate of Winton Woods High School.
SPC Alley joined the US Army in August of 2004, and was assigned to the 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team) at Fort Lewis, Washington. He was then later transferred to Ft. Benning, Georgia where he was assigned to APEX Platoon, Bravo Troop, 1st Squadron, 16th Calvary Regiment. SPC Alley served two combat deployments to Iraq.
Zachary passed away 8 July, 2014 in Columbus, Georgia as a result of injuries from a motorcycle accident.
Zachary is survived by his children Anthony, Scarlett and Vincent Alley. His father and stepmother Jon and Dawn Alley, his mother Joyce Alley-Plott and his siblings Jacob Alley, Emma Plott, Grace Plott and stepbrother Scott Wickemeier. As well as by his precious pups Ramsey, Loki and Hero. Gone but not forgotten and forever loved.
His medals include: the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Combat Action Badge, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal and Iraqi Campaign Medal where he served two tours.
