Fallen Story

Nicholas Bailey was born on 29 May, 1982 in Eugene, OR, and went on to grow up in Monroe, WA, where he was a 2001 graduate of Monroe H.S. After graduation, he continued his educational journey where he graduated from Whatcom Community College.

After graduating from college, Cpl Bailey joined the Marine Corps in October 2005, and through determination and drive graduated from Amphibious Reconnaissance School and earned the rank of Corporal. He was assigned to 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa, Japan.

Nick Bailey passed away May 11, 2007, in Okinawa, Japan, at the age of 24.

Nick is survived by his parents, Andi and Stan; his brother, Eric; and two grandmothers, Dorothy Croshaw, and Shirley Nicol.

Nick was more than a Marine.... He was a son, a brother, a best friend. He loved mountain biking and fishing, and he embraced the outdoors with the same energy and passion that defined his life. Those who knew him remember his loyalty, his spirit, and the deep bonds he formed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to Sky Valley Trout Unlimited, PO Box 542, Monroe, WA 98272 or worldteamsports.com

The Washington State Fallen Heroes Project proudly remembers Cpl Nicholas Bailey for his service, sacrifice, and commitment to our nation. His life continues to inspire all who learn his story.
