BIER, JOSEPH

Joseph P. Bier was born on  October 01, 1983 and was home-schooled in Centralia Washington, and according to his family, they wrote, "Joe was a challenging child to raise because he was always trying to live to his potentials and occasionally beyond them."  

Cpl Bier joined the United States Marine Corps and was a 0331, Machine Gunner. After a two year stint in Marine Corps Security Force Battalion, Banger Washington, he was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force at Marine Corps Base Twentynine Palms, Calif. Cpl Bier was deployed to Ramadi Iraw where he as attached to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward). 

Cpl Bier was killed Dec. 7, 2005 by an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Ramadi, Iraq. 

The Washington State Fallen Heroes Project proudly remembers Cpl Joseph Bier for his service, sacrifice, and commitment to our nation. Our hope is that his life continues to inspire all who learn his story.
