GAZZAWAY, CASEY

Casey L. Gazzaway was born on November 21, 1983 and proudly called Tacoma Washington home.  

SGT Gazzaway answered the call to serve our nation in the United States Army, rising to the rank of Sergeant. Known for his dedication, leadership, and loyalty to those beside him, he embodied the values of the Army both in and out of uniform. 

 

At just 27 years old, Casey’s life was cut far too short when he passed away on 02 May 2011, in Lakewood, Washington. A former resident of Livermore, California, leaving behind a wide circle of loving family members, friends, and fellow Soldiers who continue to carry his memory forward. 

 

Casey will be remembered not only for his service, but for the person he was; steadfast, caring, and deeply respected by those who knew him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the honor with which he served. 

 

Today, and always, we remember SGT Casey L. Gazzaway. May his name, etched in the Seattle Garden of Remembrance, forever remind us of the cost of freedom and the heroes who stand in its defense.
