Fallen Story

Logan A. Hettinger was born on September 13, 1993, to Randell Hettinger and Cheryl Jenson. Logan graduated from high school in 2011 at Prairie Home High School in Prairie Home Missouri. Even from a young age, Logan wanted to serve his country, and he would do just that after graduating from Hight School.

SGT Hettinger joined the United States Army in June of 2011 and after attending Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia he was given orders and reported to his first assignment to Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington in October 2011. In December 2011, SGT Hettinger deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Upon SGT Hettinger’s return from deployment, he married Amber Frank on December 3, 2012, and they would go on to have a daughter Alliana. While the United States Army was Logan’s life, he also loved working out, playing videos games and playing basketball. However, most of all the love for his daughter and family came first.

SGT Hettinger was killed in a tragic car accident on August 21, 2014, in Tacoma Washington.

The Washington State Fallen Heroes Project proudly remembers SGT Logan A. Hettinger for his service, sacrifice, and commitment to our nation. His life continues to inspire all who learn his story.
