TOBIN, MICHAEL

Michael S. Tobin was born in Mt. Shasta, CA on May 9, 1984 to Ron and Cheryl Tobin, and was the younger brother to Brian, now living in Puerto Rico. Michael grew up and attended schools in Chico, CA and graduated from Chico High School in 2003. During high school he participated in the wrestling program. 

After graduating from High School, Michael followed in his older brother’s footsteps and joined the United States Marine Corps and served in “Operation Iraqi Freedom”, where he was deployed twice to Iraq, and was awarded the Combat Veteran’s Award. After returning from deployment, and his enlistment was up, Michael opted to get out and enrolled in Butte College and was in the Welding Certification Program.   

Michael had a passion for welding, he enjoyed flying remote control helicopters with his Dad, climbing Mt. Shasta with his Mom, and enjoyed special times with his brother Brian, skydiving and road trips with his best friends Brian and Brent. 

Michael always had a passion and zest for life like no other! He exhibited great compassion for those in need and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Michael brought great joy to those around him with his exuberant sense of humor. He always found positive in the worst of situations. His job during his college was loading FedEx trucks and it was shared that Michael always had a theme for each night, making up goofy songs, jokes, etc., to break up the monotony of the mundane job loading trucks. He was known for his tricks and goofy sense of humor. 

Michael passed away April 11, 2008 and is greatly missed by all who knew him.
