WEBB, CHRISTOPHER

Christopher V. Webb was born April 04, 1981 in Pocatello Idaho to Larry and Rebecca Webb. From an early age, Chris had a passion for adventure, a competitive spirit, and a mechanically-gifted mind. He spent his childhood camping, fishing, and hunting with his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He had many special memories of spending time with his Grandpa Bennie Webb & Great-Grandpa Tip Strunk at the Napa Auto Parts store in Shoshone, Idaho, where he spent hours taking apart and fixing watches, radios, motors and helping his grandfather with projects.  

Chris excelled at sports and loved playing baseball, softball, and golf.  Chris was always ready to tackle any challenge presented to him. Whatever he set his mind to achieving, he dedicated himself to completely, until he had accomplished his goal. 

MSG Webb joined the Idaho National Guard at the age of 18 and discovered a career and calling where he excelled at and would go on to serve for 17 years. He was a decorated veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was deployed on a 12 month tour of duty, and received multiple highly-honored awards throughout his military career including: The Idaho Governor’s Outstanding Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Combat Action Badge, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, NCOIC of the Year in 2016, and Idaho Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Master Badge. 

MSG Webb was devoted to the well-being of others and had a passion for his fellow soldiers. He devoted many hours to fundraising and helping whenever he had the chance. Whether it was fixing broken vehicles for his neighbors or helping organize major events for the Idaho National Guard, MSG Webb was always the first one to jump in and lend a helping hand. His latest undertaking was leading the effort for the Sgt. Dan Brown Memorial, which honors Idaho soldiers killed since 9/11 in Iraq and Afghanistan. This memorial is located at Forsyth Park in Jerome, Idaho. 

Chris met his wife Tiffany in 2004 through a mutual friend. It did not take long for Chris to decide he had found his perfect match, and they were married later that year on November 7th, 2004 in Twin Falls, Idaho. Chris loved his family and took great joy in spending time with his wife and kids and celebrating their successes. Some of their favorite memories are times when the family went camping, hunting, boating, shooting, swimming, or just building things together in the garage. Chris had a passion for fixing up old motorcycles, ATV’s, and vehicles, and loved sharing his knowledge and expertise with his family and friends.  

MSG Webb was a beloved husband, son, father, brother, soldier, and friend, and passed away in Twin Falls, Idaho on June 15th, 2017, at the age of 36.  

The Washington State Fallen Heroes Project proudly remembers MSG Christopher V. Webb for his service, sacrifice, and commitment to our nation. Our hope is that his life continues to inspire all who learn his story.
