Jarrod was born in Spokane, Washington, July 3'd1991 to Kim and Gary Lallier.
He was the middle child with an older sister, Jessica and younger brother, Jordan.
Jarrod grew up in Spokane- attending Brentwood Elementary, Northwood Middle
School, and graduating in 2010 from Mead High School.
Jarrod always cared about others and their needs before himself. He gave his life to
Christ at a young age and was known for being caring, warm, friendly with
a wonderful sense of humor. lt was these characteristics that endured him to so
many people. He loved the outdoors and the many camping trips with family and
friends. Jarrod also loved sports and enjoyed basketball, track and soccer, though
soccer was his favorite. He knew at a young age he wanted to serve in the military.
This never wavered as he signed up for the Army between his junior and senior year
in high school.
After graduation, he went to boot camp at Ft. Benning in July of 2010, then onto
Airborne School. He loved being a paratrooper. He was stationed at Ft. Bragg and
served with the 1"t Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat
Team, 82nd Airborne Division. Jarrod was deployed to Afghanistan at the end of Feb
2012 and was engaged in and around the Zharay region. On June 18,2012, their last
mission, nine others were wounded and Jarrod was killed at the age of 20, when
individuals in Afghan National Police uniforms turned their weapons on his unit.
Jarrod's accommodations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart, the
National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on
Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, the Overseas
Service Ribbon, the Gombat Infantryman's Badge, and the Parachutist Badge.
