Fallen Story

David Biehl was born on November 18, 1983, in Kennewick, WA. His dream from a very young boy was to someday be a soldier and serve his country. In March of 2003, he was deployed with the 321st Engineer Battalion and was part of the first troops of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he participated in constructing an assault bridge across the Euphrates River (the first American assault bridge crossing since the Vietnam War) and Operation Desert Sting, where he helped with combat patrols along the Tigris River. He served as a Combat Engineer and Bridge Crewmember for his second deployment to Iraq from July 2006 to July 2007. He then went on to become an Army Recruiter and lived in Idaho until his death on November 10, 2011. During this time, he earned the Recruiter Ring in April 2009, and was inducted as a member of the Glen E. Monell Order of Recruiting Excellence in recognition of outstanding achievements and dedication. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a Seattle Mariner's fan. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed sharing funny stories to bring laughter to someone's day. - Psalm 27 - Not all wounds of war are visible.
