"Bradley Alan Young passed away on December 25, 2015. His smile and quick wit will be sincerely missed by all those who knew and loved him. Bradley was born in Boise, Idaho on May 6, 1988, to Dan and Karen Young. His family moved to Kennewick when he was 7 years old and he graduated from Kamiakin High School in 2007. He moved to the Portland area after graduation to work at his brother’s family business. He attended school at Mt. Hood College and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2010. Bradley was an avid lover of the great outdoors. As a child, he was an Eagle Scout and he thoroughly enjoyed backpacking and hiking with his father and his friends. He had an unparalleled competitive spirit and a devotion to his fellow scouts and team members. He discovered his greatest passion, running, in middle school, and his long legs propelled him through many successful cross country and track seasons throughout his teenage years and into his 20’s. He will be remembered my many for his ability to quickly anchor races, complete half-marathons and marathons without training and to simply run. Bradley enlisted in the U.S. Army in November of 2010. He attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, advanced training at Fort Eustis, Virginia, where he was trained as an OH-58D helicopter Armament/Electrical/Avionics systems repairer. He was assigned to serve in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) upon graduation from his advanced individual training. He has been assigned to B Company, 1st Battalion, 160th SOAR (ABN) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky for the last four years. He was a veteran of tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom."
